Dr. Puls became a permanent member of Family Vision Center in July of 2014. She is passionate about the opportunity to provide excellent, comprehensive eye care in the area. Dr. Puls completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at the University of Central Missouri, summa cum laude, and graduated with honors on the Dean’s List from the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry. She intends to employ her educational and work experience in optometry and to utilize her professional skills while providing greater patient care. She plans on emphasizing in ocular disease and pediatric optometry.
Dr. Puls completed externships at Family Vision Center, Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO as well as at the St. Louis VA. As a student, she was President of Gold Key international UMSL chapter, historian for the UMSL AOSA, secretary of student optometric government association while being student members in COVD, WOA, AOA and MOA. Dr. Puls was also a student volunteer for the VOSH program and was a member of BSK honor society. She was a teacher’s assistant for clinic, office assistant for UMSL College of Optometry Admissions, and a student ambassador throughout optometry school. Dr. Puls has volunteered at Special Olympics Opening Eyes, for school vision screenings, and has given her time to conduct Lion’s Club examinations.
Her husband, Dr. Dan Puls, was raised in La Crosse/Onalaska area, where she relocated from Missouri to begin practicing optometry. With her spare time, Dr. Puls enjoys spending time with her husband and their two sons, painting, movies, reading, shopping. Dr. Puls is excited to meet all new and established patients at Family Vision Center.
